Charlie McMeekin

Charlie McMeekin has dedicated his professional life to working with young people through his position as an English teacher and drama coach. After 30 years in the Randolph school system and one year as a Fulbright exchange teacher in The Netherlands, he currently teaches at The Sharon Academy. He built an award-winning theater program during his years at Randolph Union High School, and has directed adult community theater at Chandler, including productions of Godspell, Quilters, Fiddler on the Roof and Barnum. At The Sharon Academy, Charlie oversees the production of the annual all-school musical. He conceived the idea of an all-star youth musical at Chandler, and since 1999 has directed these student productions which involve more than 120 students annually. When Charlie isn’t teaching or directing, he sings with Sounding Joy!, Ken’s Barbershop Quartet and the Bethany Church choir; reviews plays for The Herald, and finds contentment working in the woods at his home on Braintree Hill where he lives with his wife Becky and daughter Hannah.
