Laura Roald

Laura Roald is a Canadian theatre artist whose work has appeared on stages across North America for the past twenty-five years. Recent credits include performing Thoughts and Prayers (Complications Company), Why You Should Not Move To Canada By Your Canadian Friend Laura (Wrecking Ball), Fantasia De Colores (Theatre MosaicMond), directing mainstage productions of Brontë, Macbeth, and Nine at NVU Johnson, Other Mothers (24 Hour Playwriting Event, Complications Company) Making Babies and Other Complications (Complications Company), Noh Mom (Complications Company) Memory Palace (Full Circle Festival) and After Mrs Rochester (Alumnae Theatre). Upcoming projects include The Suffragist’s Reenactment Society (Complications Company) and Exhume (pet project productions). She co-founded Complications Company, a new work development company in Burlington, Vermont. Laura holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Alberta, serves as board president of Off Center for the Dramatic Arts in Burlington, is part-time faculty at Northern Vermont University-Johnson and is a member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas.
