The Clara Martin Center will host an evening entitled “Celebrating Creativity in Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery” at Chandler Music Hall in Randolph on January 7, 2017. The event will celebrate the agency’s 50th anniversary by featuring the talents of those who recognize mental health as an essential part of overall wellbeing at an art show opening and selected readings at 6:30pm, and a performance from the spectacular Me2 Orchestra at 7:30pm.
The art show and reading will exhibit work from friends of mental health in the Upper Gallery. This is an opportunity for showcasing creativity in written and visual forms by people who are passionate about mental health.
Founded in Burlington, Vermont, the Me2/Orchestra is the only classical music organization in the world for people with mental illnesses and those who support them. Led by a once world-renowned conductor whose own career was shattered by his diagnosis of bipolar disorder, the Me2/Orchestra’s exhilarating performances challenge societal stereotypes about mental illness.
Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door. Call 802-728-6464 to purchase tickets in advance.
Clara Martin Center is a local non-profit organization, providing mental health and substance abuse services to Orange County and greater Upper Valley communities.
