Performances & Events

Chandler is proud to present another exciting season of diverse performances. In addition to our MainStage series, we offer Live & Upstairs, a series of smaller, more intimate performances in the renovated Esther Mesh Room in Chandler’s Upper Gallery. The Daytime Performance Series serves hundreds of youth from area schools and homeschool families, and is open to the general public, as well.

Gnossierennesis a word coined by composer Erik Satie. Perhaps it refers to Gnosticism? Perhaps the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur in the labyrinth at Knossos on Crete? Chandler favorite Simone Dinnerstein performs works by Couperin, Glass, Satie, and Schumann. Whether songful and contemplative or dizzingly exuberant, Dinnerstein and each composer trace the inward working of a musical maze and connect the two thought-provoking definitions.

Young classical musicians from high schools and home schools throughout Vermont and the Upper Valley will share their artistry in Chandler’s annual youth concert, inspired by National Public Radio’s From the Topprogram. For this performance, the area’s leading music teachers recommend students who deserve special recognition. A competitive audition for The Next Generation is set for Sunday, April 7, 2019.
