Jake Blount is an award-winning musician and scholar based in Providence, RI. He is half of the internationally touring duo Tui, a 2020 recipient of the Steve Martin Banjo Prize, and a two-time winner of the Appalachian String Band Music Festival (better known as Clifftop). A specialist in the early folk music of Black Americans, Blount is a skilled performer of spirituals, blues and string band repertoire.

Arrive early for the opening of our Smithsonian Gallery Show, “Crossroads: Change in Rural America,” which explores how rural American communities changed in the 20th century.

The Chandler is brimming with excitement for Jason’s performance as part of a multi-city/town tour. Ethan Setiawan & Fine Ground is visually a bluegrass band. Born of a yearning to return to bluegrass roots, Fine Ground takes time-honored traditions and imbues them with original tunes and exceptional songwriting. 

*This show is scheduled to take place upstairs in the Esther Mesh room. If it sells out, it will move into the Main Hall.

The Vermont Fiddle Orchestra (VFO) 2025 Spring Concert.

The VFO plays traditional and contemporary fiddle and dance tunes from the British Isles, Ireland, Scandinavia, Quebec, Appalachia, New England, Vermont and beyond.  The orchestra isdirected by Peter Macfarlane, a long-standing member of the Vermont fiddle community who originally hails from the other side of “the pond,” and who is a member of the bands Atlantic Crossing, and Frost and Fire.  Peter is assisted by Susan Reid, a well-known local fiddler and a member of the band Larks in the Attic.

The most popular and sought after big band of all time returns to the Chandler Music Hall for one night only! On May 8, The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform their greatest hits, including “In The Mood”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”, “American Patrol”, “A String Of Pearls”, “Little Brown Jug”, “Pennsylvania 6-5000”, Tuxedo Junction”, and of course their theme song “Moonlight Serenade” as they continue their national tour. The orchestra, along with the music director Erik Stabnau, vocalist Jenny Swoish and The Moonlight Serenaders, will perform their catalog of big band classics just the way they would have over 80 years ago when Glenn Miller stood in front of his band. It is a show that continues to transport audiences back in time and is as nostalgic as it is exciting.
